   Abel3 MERRILL (John2) was born 25 Jan. 1679/80, in Hartford, Conn., and died 18 Aug. 1759, in West Hartford, where he spent most of his life. He married, 5 Mar. 1711, Mabel Easton, daughter of John Easton of Hartford. She was born 17 Jan. 1683. Children:

   wife); lived in Wethersfield, Conn.

       May, 1776; lived New Hartford, Conn.; served
   as major in the Revolution; member General
   Assembly 1765-1775. Family, if any, not traced.

    d. 7 Jan. 1810.

   Abel3 Merrill made his will 12 Aug. 1757, "being aged and under some Bodily weakness." To three sons at New Hartford, Abel, Elijah and Nehemiah, he gave 40s. each. To his daughters, Thankfull, wife of Bevil Seymour, and Susanna, wife of Zebulon Merrill, he gave £ 12 each. To his granddaughter Clement, wife of Noah Kellogg, he gave £ 4. The residue he gave to his son Thomas, whom he named as executor.             S.M.
