MERRILL (Abraham2)
was born 15 Oct. 1673, in Newbury, Mass., and lived on
the old homestead of his father, near the mouth of Artichoke
River. He was a farmer and boatman on the Merrimack River.
He was one of the founders of the Episcopal Church in
Newbury (see pp. 63, 87-89), and one of the wardens
of the church in 1714. He made his will 3 Nov. 1749, and
it was proved 3 May, 1756. It is probable that he died
in 1756. He married (1) (published 10 Aug. 1708, in Newbury),
Deborah Hazeltine (see
next page), daughter of Nathaniel Hazeltine of
Haverhill, Mass. She died 21 Jan. 1727/8, in Newbury.
He married (2) in April, 1729, in Newbury, Margaret Lowell,
who survived him. Children, born in Newbury:

of Nathaniel and Deliverance (Robie) Hazeltine. Deliverence
Robie was of Hampton, N.H. (See
